The service is available to qualifying taxpayers. However, each participating software company sets its own eligibility requirements and may include fees for features that provide additional convenience to the taxpayer. These requirements may vary by state and incorporate other criteria.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>According to the Free File Alliance, current members include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1040NOW Corp.<\/li><li>ezTaxReturn.com<\/li><li>FileYourTaxes<\/li><li>Free Tax Returns<\/li><li>Intuit (maker of TurboTax)<\/li><li>OnLine Taxes<\/li><li>TaxACT<\/li><li>TaxHawk<\/li><li>TaxSlayer<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>IRS Free File is a partnership between the IRS and the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/freefilealliance.org\/\"><em>Free File Alliance<\/em><\/a><em>, a group of industry-leading private-sector tax preparation companies that have agreed to provide free commercial online tax preparation and electronic filing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IRS Free File Fillable Forms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/e-file-providers\/free-file-fillable-forms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IRS Free File Fillable Forms<\/a>. The program allows taxpayers to download the forms they need, complete them, and e-file the forms at no cost. To e-file your forms, you\u2019ll need to validate and sign your forms by entering your prior-year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or your prior-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/identity-theft-fraud-scams\/get-an-identity-protection-pin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Identity Protection Pin<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A taxpayer who chooses this option should know how to prepare their own tax return.
