If you or a loved one is living with a disability, there are a few key things to keep in mind when financial planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Understand Your Financial Options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have worked previously (paying into social security) or have personal wealth, your options will look different than someone who has never worked. Medicare has multiple parts. Part A covers inpatient healthcare, including hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, hospice, lab tests, surgery, and home health care. Ohio residents get priority, but those from other states who are eligible can still get a grant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cernercharitablefoundation.org\/request-funding\/\">First Hand Foundation<\/a>. Provides financial help for medical expenses for those experiencing an immediate need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Help-for-Adults-with-a-Disability\">Help for Adults with a Disability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional programs are available to help adults with disabilities understand their benefits, find care, and get the most out of programs like Medicare and Medicaid.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.benefitscheckup.org\/\">National Council on Aging Benefits Checkup<\/a> provides information on benefits for seniors with disabilities and others over 65.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicare.gov\/your-medicare-costs\/get-help-paying-costs\/pace\">Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly<\/a> (PACE) provides Medicaid and Medicare-covered home care for those over 55, allowing them to stay in their homes.
