You\u2019re seeing: \u201c$5.99.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You ask yourself, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/us\/blog\/financial-matters\/202107\/spending-more-you-thought-you-would\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Is that a deal<\/a>? Is that what it was last time? I feel like maybe it was lower\u2026 in the 4-something range\u2026 or maybe I\u2019m just misremembering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There you are, standing too long in the same aisle, stuck in a loop. Finally, you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accrediteddebtrelief.com\/blog\/impulse-spending-how-to-recover-after-a-shopping-spree\/\">throw it in the cart<\/a> because you\u2019re tired and you\u2019re not in the mood to do internet research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, did you overpay or not? Did you get a deal? What is the going rate of shampoo anyway?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This actually isn\u2019t about getting a deal \u2014 it\u2019s just about knowing an appropriate price for your regular item. One you will be purchasing ad nauseum for years to come \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A price anchor = your number, not theirs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that the store is incentivized to sell. But your agenda is not their agenda. Sale stickers and markdown games are for their benefit, not yours. This shouldn\u2019t be a flash sale \u2014 just a solid, consistent price that felt fair.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Save it wherever you\u2019ll actually look. Notes app. Photo album. Paper taped inside the pantry door. Doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use it when you shop (like, actually use it)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019re in Target. You see your usual detergent.
