How did the debt begin?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I got into debt right out of college. I was working and trying to cover school expenses at the same time, but it just wasn\u2019t enough. I started relying on credit cards and loans to get by.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was extremely stressful. After college, I was working at a bait and tackle shop and struggling just to make rent. I was living paycheck to paycheck and constantly worried about money.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were days I couldn\u2019t even eat because of the stress \u2014 my stomach was in knots all the time. I also treat credit completely differently. My husband and I use a credit card like a debit card, only spending money we already have and paying it off immediately.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s about awareness and control. That\u2019s what really changed everything for me.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How did it feel when you graduated?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It felt amazing, like everything finally clicked into place. More than anything, it felt like relief. Like I could finally move forward.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was waiting for you on the other side of debt?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

So much.<\/em> My husband and I are moving into a new home, which wouldn\u2019t have been possible before. We were able to save money for a down payment and feel confident taking on a mortgage.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re also planning a trip to Japan that was completely paid for with savings, not credit cards. That\u2019s something I never thought I\u2019d be able to say.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even the small things feel different now. We can take camping trips, visit national parks, and go out to dinner without worrying about how we\u2019ll pay for it later.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
