Get To Know Juliana S.
Juliana is a mom of two living in Texas, originally from Colombia. She loves to travel and try new things, and those moments with her family help her stay grounded. As an office manager, she kept things running smoothly at work, but last year her life at home was turned upside down.
Last year, her husband needed three unplanned surgeries and was out of work for several months. It was something they hadn’t planned for. To get by, they relied on credit cards to cover groceries, medical bills and essential everyday needs.

My first phone call with Accredited Debt Relief gave me perspective and made me feel hopeful.

How did your debt begin?
“Last year my husband had three unplanned surgeries and wasn’t able to work, so we started using our credit cards to pay for groceries and medical expenses and any extras that we couldn’t cover.
We got to the point where we knew we were not going to be able to keep paying the minimum payments of the credit cards, we were really stressed.”
What started as a temporary stop gap to make up for lost income, started growing out of control. As their debt balances grew, so did their family. In June, they had a baby boy — and it added to their urgency to resolve the debt problems.
What moment made you realize something had to change?
“Things changed when we realized we didn’t have enough to cover for our day to day expenses and had our credit cards maxed out. Then, we had a baby boy born in June, and knew we needed to find a way to resolve our debt.”
For Juliana, the birth of her son paired with maxed out cards was enough to tip the scales. She realized they didn’t have enough money coming in for everyday expenses and with every card maxed out it wasn’t a casual problem — it was a wall.
